You will NEVER have the ability to hide the ads. That is what subsidizes the cost of the device. If you highlight the right-side ad and hit the asterisk key, you often can choose to hide that ad (some sponsored ads don't offer that.) It will change to a new ad. If you do it often enough, you can get just a plain Roku logo, at least for awhile.
