My 4K streaming stick is also overheating and the link to the free HDMI extender won’t accept my serial number so I’m stuck with it over heating.

Hi Arjiemar,
I’ve tried this and the link doesn’t accept the serial number still.
Many thanks
Daniilou
There's nothing special about the Roku HDMI extender, it's just a short (4 inches or so) HDMI extension cord with an HDMI plug at one end and an HDMI socket at the other. I use an HDMI extension cable several feet long to locate my Streaming Stick+ in an equipment closet on the other side of the wall from my TV.
You may be able to find an HDMI extension locally or at a non-Roku online vendor and get one faster than waiting for Roku to process your order and ship one to you. Or use a female-to-female HDMI connector to connect your Roku Stick to a regular (non-extension) HDMI cord.
As long as you're moving the Roku Stick away from the TV, I'd move it more than the 4" the Roku extension would give you.
Okay. I have it in an extender already so I’ll see if I can move it any further. Thank you
Hello @Daniilou
Thanks for the posts in the Roku Community regarding the issue you are experiencing with overheating.
Please be aware that the HDMI extender is only eligible for Roku Streaming Sticks and not other devices. What specific Roku model device are you using and trying to submit the serial number for in the form?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
