Power in settings missing

Ultra LT is receiving data — my router tells me, when it is not being used.
my other 2 Ultra’s: 2023 & 2024, Do Not do this, according to my router.

They are all at same firmware version.

Only difference is: 2023 & 2024 versions have the POWER option is settings — Ultra LT DOES NOT!!
I have not done any hidden settings on Ultra LT

How do I get POWER back into Settings, so I can see if this fixes the issue??

Re: Power in settings missing

@JanJ

Newer Roku devices have the additional "Power" setting. (Settings/System/Power)

Older models do not have an additional "Power" setting. (Settings/System)

Model numbers can be found under Settings/System/About.  Roku Ultra and Ultra LT models prior to the 4800/48xx series will not have the Power setting.

-----

Make sure to press Home on your Roku remote when you are finished streaming so that Roku returns to Home Screen.  This will cease streaming data usage. (Some data will still be seen when Roku checks for updates and talks to Roku servers intermittently).

On older models, can also unplug them so they have no power. (no power = no data use).  Or you can use with programmable timers/on-off switches/smart plugs at outlet to deprive them of power.

When doing the above, may have to manually check for Software Updates since device likely will miss its daily automatic Software update check. (Settings/System/Software Update [Check Now]

Last time used was 2 days ago and yes, Home was hit before hitting power button on remote.
This is the activity that the router sees.

note: other 2 ROKU’s have just a few minutes of activity.
So—WHY??

Re: Power in settings missing

Ok it’s fixed!

I had to FACTORY RESET the Roku Ultra LT, and re-configure the Entire device.

THEN POWER WAS SEEN (The automatic shutdown after 30 minutes of inactivity!

This was Missing Before the FACTORY RESET!

I will post tomorrow after checking WTH the router!

Re: Power in settings missing

I sent you answer in the email reply.

so it’s many hours of the first day since the factory reset and complete reconfiguration.  It was set EXACTLY AS BEFORE.

router sees nearly no online status as would be expected, though didn’t happen before…..

You need to check the code you wrote on the 4801RW Model!

here is proof it is fixed — at least for now!  I will watch something, hit home as I usually do afterwards, walk away, and check again later!!!

Re: Power in settings missing

I opened and ran 5 minutes of a Netflix program. Then. Hit HOME, and when it displayed, turned off TV with Roku Remote, as I usually do.

later tonight will post what router saw of this device during today.

Note again, Our Roku Ultra 2023 & 2024 models DID NOT DO THIS.

OBVIOUSLY A FIRMWARE BUG!

please fix! Continuously accessing internet when not on is NOT A GOOD THING!!!  You have Symptoms: Get us a Solution !!!!

Re: Power in settings missing

Also, it's best to cleanly exit apps when possible, and not just hit HOME.

Re: Power in settings missing

Google disagrees with you!

Google says hit home and App ends!

Previous poster said hit home too!

what is “Right”???

please describe “Cleanly exit app” so we all can learn!!
