Having the same issue...to stop the app from crashing, I had to change the permissions in settings. Allow location to app. However, even after fixing the app from crashing, my tv screen still locks when trying to use the app. But only on 1 TV. Works on my phone, and 2 other newer TVs. The issue is yours Roku. Not ours. You need to remove your last update.
Hi @Willdaig,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We are glad to hear that your Roku Smart Home app is working on your mobile devices now. We also appreciate the troubleshooting you have done to fix the issue.
Could you please provide us with more details about the Roku Camera app on your Roku TV? We would like to examine it more closely so that we can provide you with certain details and instructions.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Regards,
Riamie
What you're asking for has nothing to do with the issue concerned. I have 3 Onn Tvs with the Roku Smart Home App on them. All were working perfectly until Roku tried to install an update. This has affected older model Tvs. Roku needs to fall back to before the update was done or a patch needs to be developed to resolve this issue. I believe that all the information you are trying to get from other users is just a stall tactic. The users are doing nothing wrong. And if you can't see that, then maybe you shouldn't be a moderator.
Roku engineers should be embarrassed that they can't find a solution. This will affect Rokus bottom line if users can't use the equipment purchased because of a software issue.
Also, why is my comment not included in the original post?
