Transferring user ID from old to new TV and removing from old

Jump to solution

Buying a new TV.  When accessing streaming channels (Netflix, Discovery, Hulu etc) will use my existing log in info...user name and password.

How do I eliminate that info from the old tv so nobody else can use it without cancelling the accounts?

Hi @Shawneeray,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We're happy to assist you on how you can remove your information from your old TV without canceling the accounts. Please be reminded that a factory reset will erase your personal preferences, unlink your device from your Roku account, reset all settings, and return your device to a state ready for initial setup. You can perform a factory reset using the physical reset button or pinhole found at the back of your Roku TV or by following these steps:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll and select Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select Advanced system settings.
  5. Select Factory reset.
  6. If you have a Roku TV, select Factory reset everything. Otherwise, move on to the next step.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you.

All the best,

Eunice
