Roku software download for a laptop

I'm attempting to use one of our Roku sticks on a laptop.  I've read that there is some Roku software that can be downloaded to the laptop but I can't seem to find it.  All I see is the down load for the mobile app but it doesn't seem to work.

I suspect you may have heard you can view The Roku Channel via a web browser.    https://therokuchannel.com

Otherwise, you can connect a Roku device to the laptop if it has an HDMI input port.  HDMI ports on most laptops and desktops are only outputs.
