Roku setup

I just bought a Roku Express to use on my Sansui television.  It connects to my wifi and accepts my password.  Says that it needs to download any updates and then restarts.  As soon as it restarts, it goes right back to the start up page and goes through this process again, although it has saved my wifi connection and password.  Will not let me move on from this point.  I have gone through this cycle several times.  Am I missing a step or is something not loading correctly?

Found the issue.  You cannot plug the Roku USB into the TV for power while doing the set-up, because when the Roku does a restart, it also cuts off the power to the Tv, thus negating the update process, which is why it starts over.  Always have the Roku powered independently while doing all of the set up and after you have completed that entire process, THEN you can plug the Roku into the TV USB port for power and it will work fine.

I have been having this issue all day with a roku TV that I've used for more than a year.Now it will not work at all today. It just keeps looping me back to the home screen. I've done every fix listed including resetting my home modem and router and it's still one not work correctly
