ROKU will not work with remote or app

The Roku device connected to my TV has quit working with the remote or the app. I have gone through all the steps of pairing, replacing the batteries, disconnecting and restarting, recovery, etc. The remote nor the app will work. The ROKU screen comes on, the remote works for the TV - sound & on & off - but not the Roku. The app does not work at all. Do you need to replace or send me a new ROKU? I

Re: ROKU will not work with remote or app

@GMack1 There are several Roku streaming stick models.  Do you have the newer Roku Streaming Stick 4k, The Streaming Stick 4k+, or an older Roku Streaming Stick Plus?  How are you powering the stick.  Is it connected to a wall outlet or to the USB port on your TV?  Also make sure the power cord connections are all secure.    When you indicate it starts with Roku screen does it have the dancing ROKU letters?

Re: ROKU will not work with remote or app

@GMack1 Is your Stick still connected to the network? If not, the app will not work until it's reconnected. As to the rest, the questions that @HDMIGuy asked need to be answered. Depending on the age of your Roku, a replacement remote might not be available. And a Roku Stick will only work with an official Roku remote, and again there's a few older Stick models that don't work with the currently available remotes.

Is your Stick the old Purple case version? If so, you need to replace the Stick because that is a very old model and no longer supported by Roku (as well as many channel providers).
