Roku setup

Since I don't have a Roku device (not getting one unless ABSOLUTELY necessary), I assume I must use a generic web browser to access Roku Channel? I downloaded Roku app but it appears to be vaporware without a device. Is this correct? Thanks everyone 😄

Correct, the primary purpose of the Roku app is for controlling a Roku without a remote (although the Roku does have to be connected to a network, so a remote might be necessary for that). The Roku Channel is available via a web browser, and there's some other devices that have a Roku Channel app (it's in the Google Play store but not the iTunes app store). It's also available for some Smart TVs, such as Samsung.

You can access some Roku Channel content on the Roku app, but that's not its primary purpose. It's kind of buried within the first section of things to watch, and honestly you'd be better off using a web browser or the dedicated channel app for other devices.

Hey ATC....

Thanks for confirming what I suspected regarding access to the Roku Channel sans a Roku streaming device. Not that I'm tight or anything, (ex says I'm cheapest man alive), but I already have 5 (yes FIVE), Amazon Firesticks, 3-Beam H3s and only two EZ-Cast streaming dongles..... oh and a very rare Apple lightning-to-HDMI adapter. 
The Orlando house / pool repairs have already cost me nearly 3x more than estimated (and we haven't put a dent in the amount of repairs still needed). So in this situation, I really must hang onto every dime available until that monster house is back in the lab and chained to the table.
