Do "TV controls" work with most TVs?

We also have an accommodation business and are thinking of cutting the cord there. My question is, if we get the "Roku Streaming Stick" with TV controls, would this work to turn on and change volume on most TVs? Or are some incompatible with this setup? Ideally the guests would just pick up the Roku remote and it would go straight to the app screen. We have various TV models in the rooms so I want to be sure before we bulk buy. Thanks!

Re: Do "TV controls" work with most TVs?

Hi @vedakbo2

Thanks for the inquiry, and welcome to the Roku Community!

Please be advised that a Roku streaming stick can turn on/off your TV and change the volume if you are using a Roku voice remote that can control your TV; this feature needs to be set up during the initial setup process, and not all Roku remotes have this functionality.

Feel free to contact us again if there's anything else we can do to assist you.

Cheers,
