About done with Roku, device stuck in endless loop... again

We were convinced to switch to Roku to allow IP integration with Crestron. We were shipped the prior version of the Ultra even though we purchased it in 2024, used it for a few months and the issue I will describe prompted us to order a new Ultra (thankfully, this time the 2024 model).  As with last device, we're hung, again.

While using the device, suddenly the device goes into a tight loop where the front light on the device is blinking rapidly and the device audio is emitting a synced rapid clicking sound, with the cursor focus moving in synch rapidly between to items - e.g., on home page. Imagine someone was pressing on the remote or the remote was emitting commands at the fastest possible rate. As with prior device, have tried soft boot (shutting down and restarting), hard boot (disconnecting power cord, HDMI and Cat 5 and reconnecting), and cycling power at breaker to theater room, and house (to rest router). All to no avail.

Any ideas?

As an aside: At this point, given the circa 1990 interface, the ads on home screen and the malfunction of the power (sleep) settings, hard to see why we wouldn't go back to the prior mfr / device even if it means not having IP control and, so, two remotes.  This thing just seems to be not great.  Last device died, this device blew up pairing with smart home system after last update, and now this. Any convincing arguments in favor of Roku over others?  None of our other TVs running Android (multiple Samsung, and one Sony), suffer this kind of instability.

Wondering if maybe just have some conflicting CEC commands from your other equipment interfering with the Roku.

Try performing a Factory Reset on the Ultra 4800.  On the bottom of the unit, there is a Reset Button.  Press and hold it in for 30+ seconds. (this will require you to go through the setup and activation again - just use the same email address you did before and everything will be restored back to your account).  Will have to log back in to any subscriptions, but hopefully this will fix your current issue.

It's not the Roku - its the Crestron's control of the Roku via IP (Roku's ECP) causing this behavior (especially considering both of your Ultras have behaved the same way in the same IP control setup with the Crestron).

The Crestron (or its Roku remote control module specifically) is likely "spamming" the Roku with control commands and the Roku is simply responding accordingly.  You need to contact Crestron about either updating the firmware/Roku control module or reconfiguring the specific control sequences/timings for Roku devices.
