Web based Roku not working

Jump to solution

I have a Fire tablet, so I can't download the app. Instead I watch via the web. Now when I choose a program it just spins. I've also tried pulling up programs via the web on my phone using Chrome and it's doing the same thing. Is there an issue?

Hi @ncleflore,

We're glad to have you here in the Roku Community!

We want to learn more about the problem you are experiencing so that we can help you.

  • Could you clarify whether the issue occurred on The Roku channel or a specific streaming channel installed on your Roku device?
  • When did you notice the issue start?
  • Are there any changes in the setup or settings of your Roku device or your network provider that might cause the problem?
  • Are you receiving any error messages or codes?

We recommend restarting your network equipment (gateway/modem/router) for troubleshooting purposes. Then restart your phone or computer and your Roku device from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power > System restart. (If you do not see a Powe submenu, skip to the next step).

Please keep us posted, and we'll continue assisting you from there.

Thank you,
Chel

I'm trying to watch the live programming on my Fire tablet (Amazon). Because the Amazon's app store doesn't have the Roku app, I have to watch it using the Silk browser. I've never had an issue before but this week it stopped working. Today I'm getting a playback error saying the media playback is with corrupted oe the browser doesn't support. I've also tried to use Chrome on my phone and the player just spins, so I don't think it's only affecting my tablet

hello, I am having the same issue With no longer being able to access the Roku channel on my fire tablet browser. Until until very recently, I was always able to access the channel this way.

Did Roku make a change or a update that no longer enables Access via The silk browser?

Nothing else has changed with my tablet.  And I'm able to stream other content Through the silk browser. But for some reason, the Roku channel has stopped working.   Are you no longer supporting viewing the Roku channel through an internet browser?  Thanks
