For the last couple of weeks my Roku app has not been able to find either of my Roku sticks unless I reset the router. They then disappear the next day and even inputting the IP addresses in manually doesn’t work. Only resetting the router every time enables a connection. Is this a problem with the iPhone app, the router or the Roku devices?
When the Roku app on your iPhone can't find your Rokus, are they connected to your network and otherwise functioning normally? If so, it sounds like the problem resides in the iPhone/app combination.
Have you tried restarting the iPhone instead of the router? Removing/reinstalling the iPone Roku app?
The Roku stick and phone are always on the same network. I’ve restarted the Roku stick, tv, phone and router. I’ve uninstalled the app. I’ve disconnected and deleted the Roku stick from the app then reconnected. The only thing that ever works is resetting the router and that has now stopped working. It connects for a few minutes then disconnects and I’m back to square one. I’m just trying to work out whether it’s worth buying another stick or if I’m going to have the same problem with that too.
Yeah, it's not the app. I can use the app months after the previous time (I rarely use it, mostly just testing when people report problems), and all my devices appear. I use an iPhone XR connected to my network through multiple wireless access points, both on 2.4 and 5 GHz. Some Roku devices are wired, while the rest are wireless. No problems at any time.
