I cannot log in to the Roku mobile app on my iphone.

Like many here, I have been dealing with being unable to log in to the mobile app for almost a year now on my iphone. It has persisted through multiple ios updates. It has persisted through multiple Roku app updates. I've deleted and rebooted and reinstalled the app every update. And every time when I attempt to log in I get "Error Something went wrong, please try again later."

I have rebooted my iphone. Still the error.

I have deleted the app, rebooted my iphone, and reinstalled the app. Still the error.

I have deleted the app, turned off my iphone, logged into the Roku website on my PC and changed my Roku password, turned my phone back on, installed the Roku app. Still the error.

I have tried all of tips I see in this forum from all of the other posts from people afflicted by the same bug. Still the error.

I know my Roku password. I can log in on a Roku TV. I can login to the my.roku website. I was able to log into this community.roku forum. I know my Roku password. I have rebooted my phone. I have reinstalled the app.

I've loved my Roku TVs we've got 5 in the house but I'm at the point of replacing them with a non-Roku alternative if there is no solution to this problem.

Re: I cannot log in to the Roku mobile app on my iphone.

Hi @Nick42,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

We'd love to assist you further with this issue you're having with the Roku mobile app since you're unable to sign in, and we appreciate the fantastic troubleshooting steps you have taken to resolve it.

Do you have another phone? You can try downloading the app and see if the problem still exists.

Also, make sure both devices are on the same network and in the same band. Most WiFi routers create two separate networks for each WiFi frequency band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).

We look forward to hearing your response.

Thanks,
Chel

I tried it on a friend's phone and get the same error.

Yes it's on the same network and same band. I've also attempted a different band, mobile data, and a friend's internet connection and all have the same error.

I feel I need to clarify, I can use the app to connect to my Roku TV and use the remote features.

What I can not do is log in to my Roku account in the Roku mobile app. I should be able to log into the Roku mobile app regardless of what network I'm connected to and whether or not my TV is on the same network. For example, you can use the Roku mobile app to manage your saved videos and stream videos on your phone while you're away from home. I cannot do this currently because it gives me the error "Error Something went wrong, please try again later."
