Hi, I have 3 roku express units that have stopped seeing my internet modem, the most recent is a brand new unit that connected to my modem for initial set up, but continually did an update. I can connect them using my mobile phone as a hot spot but none of them will see the modem anymore. Software version 9.4.0 build 4190. With COVID-19 ramping up again, we’re stuck in the house with no television to watch. Please help!

Reed, your model is over ten years old, and no longer supported by Roku. Face it, something internal has failed and it's time for a replacement. Roku might offer you a special price for a replacement model.
Also, please edit your post and remove your personal info (email and phone). Scammers troll forums like this trying to find new victims. We don't want that to happen to you. If someone calls or emails you claiming to be Roku and offer to help for a fee, they are 100% scammers.

Doesn't it seem like roku is trying to force everyone to buy a new device by bricking the old ones. I had a perfectly working device, and with the new software, I have **bleep**. I can use my phone to stream to my TV using the roku I have, which just shows that roku has created a problem on purpose. Any company that treats it customers like idiots doesn't deserve our business #boycottroku
@Jaromb without listing the model number of your Roku, we have no idea if you have any validity to your claim. The subject of this thread, the 2 XD, is an old and unsupported player. If you have a newer player that has an issue, you need to be more specific, and likely start a new thread with the issue.
I have a XD/S that I tried to setup, had problems so when the question came up to do a factory reset, I agreed before realizing that made the problem worse. I saw a quick screen telling me I can upgrade for $15.00 but it disappeared, and I could not get it back. Can I update my unit?
We have another device that we bought recently but I would like to have the older one to use on a 2nd TV.
