Live stream does not dynamically appear in Direct Publisher channel.
EnvironmentDirect Publisher
AnswerMake sure you have validityPeriodStart (and optionally, validityPeriodEnd) enabled in your Direct Publisher feed.
Looking at my channel feed status reports, it looks like the direct publisher feed is refreshed a couple of times throughout the day. I have a live stream that I am trying to incorporate; however, I don't have the m3u8 URL until close to the time of the live stream start.
Is there a way to programmatically force a refresh of my Direct Publisher Feed? Just trying to figure out how to make sure I can update my Direct Publisher feed with my live feed URL and then update the Feed so that the Roku channel sees it.
Thoughts?
I just ran a simple graphic for hours, all day, until start time. This way I new everyones Roku was probably updated to the newest cache. Just a simple thumbnail so no one stays tuned in for hours & eats up your bandwidth, you can put in the video details too "Live Show Starts At 8PM" or whatever.
I would like this to happen automatically where I don't have to login and manually refresh the feed. Is there a way to trigger a refresh of the feed programatically? Or is it smart enough to view the liveFeed start time for the live feed to trigger a refresh before this, so that it can receive the video link?
You might want to take a look at using the validity period object in the feed file. From Partner Success:
