Re: roscreen & screensaver

Endless - I am trying the same approach. I have an actual screensaver built-in to my in-progress channel which kicks in ahead of the minimum time. The only way I've figured to keep track of the user is to have timers in each and every while loop in the channel. Is this how you are doing it or is there a more elegant solution?

That's pretty much it... a timer that I reset anytime I get an user initiated event.

there is an obvious push from Roku to drive devs toward the 2DAPI.

I personally encourage developers to stick to the built in screen types unless there is a compelling need to do otherwise. It makes for a consistent user experience across the platform and will make your channel more intuitive.

FYI Chris, we have a number of business partners that are looking to hire developers to build 2D API channels, which is why I have that post at the top of the forums, I'm hoping that some of the folks here who are working with the 2D API will be interested in contracting with those companies to do that.
