firmware updates
It's really good that Roku are continuing to develop there firmware and to provide bug fix support, but what would be really nice is to have some visibility to the changes made to the firmware as well. 🙂

That's available in the developer documentation, there is a "ReleaseNotes.pdf" file in the documents folder. Additionally there are notes strewn through the documentation about when support began for particular features (search ComponentReference.pdf for the phrase "since firmware").

Re: firmware updates
Thanks. Iv'e just download again the beta 3.0 sdk (v30_20110420). In the documentation the last release note update was on 4/18/11.
There does not seem to be any mention of the last firmware update which was done a couple of weeks ago from build 3.0 2207 to 3.0 build 2222.
I can't find the documentation which covers this change. Have I got the wrong download? :?
Thanks.

the firmware updates that the box receives within the same version aren't adding any new features, they're just making sure the features in the SDK work as they should-i.e. bug fixes and the like

For the minor updates, there will usually be a short post in the general forum describing the changes, like:
viewtopic.php?f=28&t=38754 (Firmware 2.9 build 1553 Release Notes)
3.0 is still considered beta, and has a support forum that is only accessible to beta testers (and developers who've opted in to the 3.0 beta builds). There are usually announcements about the beta firmware updates provided there. If you are running the 3.0 firmware but don't have access to that forum, you should pm RokuPatrick so he can set you up with the correct permissions.
