I want to publish a paid channel and must provide informations in the W8-BEN file for US government as stated by Roku.

I am a Canadian resident. So here are my question :

In part 1 of the form there is some questions i'm not sure to understand:

6. Foreign tax identifying number : _____ (What number i must put ?)
7. Reference number(s) : ______

In part 2 : Claim of Tax Treaty Benefits

Special rates and conditions (if applicable—see instructions): The beneficial owner is claiming the provisions of Article ______ of the treaty identified on line 9 above to claim a ____ % rate of withholding on (specify type of income): ____. Explain the reasons the beneficial owner meets the terms of the treaty article: ________ (Canadian Resident ??)

there's a link in that to some detailed instructions that should be helpful. I'd trust that more than random internet people. 😄
