Using Youtube videos on Roku
Hi everyone
I have read on some topics about the Youtube TOS is not allowing use to use videos hosted there on our Roku apps, but, as recently we have the youtube oficial application, is this still not allowed?
I read too about the usage of Youtube api Iframe, but not sure if is possible to use it on Roku, have someone of you tried already?
regards

Re: Using Youtube videos on Roku
Short Answer: No.
Long Answer: The TOS state that you have to use an official YouTube player. For the case of an iframe you are still using the YT player, but this is currently impossible on Roku. I guess you could play around and figure out how to deep link to the YT app, but I doubt Roku would publish it as a public channel.
