Roku Developer Program

I'm working with the Roku 2 box. Connects fine and upload works in developer mode.

But cant telnet to the box to create keys, Then encript the package for publication.

You should ask in the developer forum but I did not think that access via telnet was possible or needed but I have done little work with ch development so I could be wrong.

The people in the developer forum can help more.

are you making sure go to a command line and telnet to your roku's ip address followed by port 8085 i.e type
"telnet 192.168.1.100 8085"?

As was stated earlier, this belongs in the developer's forum. You want to telnet to port 8080 to generate a key, not 8085.

Thank you, The only Roku Dev. Forum that I see is hijacked by: fta-heaven.com/forums/showthread.php?593-ROKU-Developers-Forum. or is that it. Not very active, not helpful. last post back in Feb looks like it was copied from the Roku site. Does the little Roku Box support telnet and keygen? I can side load channels to review, but no "telnet".

Can you telnet to port 8085? What OS are you on and what telnet client are you using?

I moved your original post to the correct forum. If you look at the breadcrumbs, you'll see it says Roku Developer Program :). The other site is not an official Roku website/forum for support.

Thank you, In the bread crumbs I can see Roku Developer Program, on the Board index. But on the "Board index" under Forum there is only the Roku Developer Program, I didn't see a "Developer Forum". Is there an authorization required?, or premium account? Talk about truly feeling lost...

I'm on a Mac and telnet to servers via a terminal window with the command "telnet ipa.ddr.ess.??? port". The port identifier is optional.

The "Roku Developer Program" link is the developer's forum.

In this case, the port is not optional. You'll want to use 'telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 8080' to get to the prompt where you can run genkey.
