Roku Developer Program

I am wanting to make my own Roku channel for my website users. However I need some step by step help on how to register and link roku devices to the user accounts. I have seen it be done with Hulu and others and I hope some one may be willing to help. Thanks in advance.

I have read those but need step by step on how to make them and where to store them and have them work as they should.

Without knowing more about your server backend, it's not really possible to help you any further. As far as a step-by-step guide, you're unlikely to find that, as it needs to be written specific to your application. There are a number of threads here that discuss different methods, so a search for "linking" might get you started.

It's unlikely that I'm the appropriate person to give you that direction. I'm more of a front-end developer. You're better off posting the details here, so other developers and/or Roku employees who might have a similar set up can help.

Ok, I am looking to create my channel with all the features at http://www.instanttvchannel.com

Where I need help is https://www.instanttvchannel.com/helpnn/wordpress I do not use wordpress and I currently use IPB.

I need a solution for my IPB forum and to be able to link my user accounts with the roku app that I create.

I am currently running a server with a linux OS.

Have you asked the folks over at Instant TV Channel for help? If you're using their service to create your channel, then they may be able to help you implement the linking process.

They have the wordpress plug in but I don't use wordpress so they can't really help me write my own server side code. This is what I was told.


The free Wordpress plugin, which is written in PHP, can be used an example to show how the API could used with other website frameworks. You can write your own server-side code to communicate with Roku players running your channels
