Improving developer.roku.com

Beginning of 2015, a new/replacement portal for Roku developers was introduced: http://developer.roku.com
It was riddled with problems, some of which logged at viewtopic.php?f=34&t=86068

Fast-forward 6mo later, i haven't dealt with channel properties for a while but today went to create a new one. I haven't heard complaints lately, so i figured developer.roku.com must be working now and went there. Nuh-uh. It still seems unusable and - i'll go on a limb here but - untested.

Here is an example, i am creating a free channel and eventually reach this "Channel Pricing" screen which is - how shall i put it - very skeptical about wanting to make it free:

"Free? No-no-no, we don't want your kind. It has to be either paid, subscription or in-app purchase. Choose one or you shall not pass."

Umm, WAT? I balked. Later i tried to go back to the Pricing screen to take a snapshot. Ha, guess what? "Pricing" is not in the menu:

After some poking around, It's kind of reachable but only through clicking "Save" from one of the other screens. From which one, It's anybody's guess.
[spoiler=a clue, old site:39kukqok][/spoiler:39kukqok]

So what's the word?
Is the new-site-nobody-asked-about abandoned?
Is http://owner.roku.com/Developer the one to use?

Re: Is developer.roku.com officially dead?

I saw that pricing screen once about a week ago, too, and was equally as confused by it. In my case, it was on a private channel, which makes it even more confounding. I haven't seen it again, since, though. A month or so ago, I was also presented with an error that refused to let me update a channel without providing screenshots (again, a private channel, where screenshots are useless). Whenever possible, I use owner.roku.com.

Side note.. agario, eh? 😛

When you click on Add Public Channel, the first thing you should see is this:

https://developer.roku.com/apps/create/public

That is where you choose to create a free vs a paid channel.

If you want to change it later, you can go to the Channel Properties page to uncheck or check some of the properties.

Re: Is developer.roku.com officially dead?

RokuJoel -
it's a private and free channel. I don't remember if i saw the screen you show - but if i did, i would have chosen "No". Regardless, it still shows the hidden (and obnoxious) "Pricing" screen. Here are some proof from other screens (in case i needed any):

By the way - one more issue seen on the 2nd screen: Notice the ": 0.00 EUR" and ": 0.00 USD" lines? I figure those must be 2 recently added countries, for which names were not added to the DB. France and... Mexico? (does Mexico use USD as currency? i have heard it to be called "peso")

Hey Joel, when I was prompted, it was on an existing private channel. I was never asked that initial question, so you might want to have your web folks make sure it's not defaulting to true for all existing channels. The only way I was able to bypass it was to switch to the old site.

I keep noticing Mexico and France still have no name in the dev.portal (both new and old). See picture above.
It's been 6 months since Roku opened appstores for France and Mexico - feels offensive to said countries, mais non?
Somebody with thumbs - please fix that omission.

Re: Is developer.roku.com officially dead?

At what URL are the country names missing? When I go to create channel I see all the regions.
