Flash live encoder + wowza issue

I'm using Flash live encoder to encode my live feed as h.264 (600 kb video + 96k audio), the stream goes through wowza media server and works fine on Apple iOS deveices. However on roku its always "retrieving" the stream. Has anyone else tried encoding using flash live encoder? I've already tried setting the default min bitrate to 20 as discusssed here viewtopic.php?f=34&t=35019

Infinite retrieving may indicate that the audio in the encoded video is not supported. Make sure you're encoding with AAC audio. iOS devices will play back HLS streams with MP3, but the Roku won't. I've been trying to convince Roku to fix that.. 😉

I'm only able to choose MP3 as audio format using flash live encoder 3.1, i guess the AAC codec must be installed seperate? Any idea where I can download it from?

I'm not personally familiar with Flash Live Encoder, but it looks like you might need to purchase a third-party AAC encoder. This is the one linked from Adobe's site: http://www.mainconcept.com/products/app ... coder.html

Re: Flash live encoder + wowza issue

The Mac version of Flash Media Live Encoder has AAC available without the need to purchase anything. I suspect it is included at the OS level and not a third party plugin as with the Windows version.
