we can’t get our tv to work our remote wasn’t working to turn the tv (samsung) on. we turned the tv on manually but the roku stick wasn’t connected despite being in. we noticed our write that connects the stick to the wall (USB Power Cable with Long-Range Wi-Fi Receiver) is frayed. eventually we got it to connect (the tv is reading the stick as in now) but the the remote isn’t working. we know the batteries in are working. we have the remote that’s the model between the old and upgraded version, so there is no way to repair. when i downloaded the roku phone app to connect that remote, the app doesn’t read my device as connected.

If the USB cable is damaged, you won't be able to use a remote or the app.  The Wi-Fi receiver is in the cable.  If your stick is model 3810, the cable is no longer available.  If it's 3820, you can buy the cable separately.
