question about the status light on a remote.

I have been in the hospital or rehab for 2 months. I came home (finally!) a few days ago and went to turn on my TV using my Roku remote. Nothing happened. My best guess is that the charge in the remote died while I was goune so I currently have the remote plugged in to a charger. My instruction manual says: " The status light will stop blinking once your remote is finished charging." My question is this: When the status light stops blinking will the light stay on steadily or will the light turn off?. Right now it's still blinking. Is there anything else that might be causing my remote to elicit nothing from my Roku Ultra streamingf player?Thank you!

"The status light (on back of your remote) flashes slowly when charging and changes to solid green when complete."

It's possible that it lost its pairing.  How to pair is also given in the above link.
