Will the new upgraded remote with voice work with a 5 year old Samsung Smart TV? 

I had planned on getting the upgrade but it only offered me the remote i have.   this one works fine, i just like the idea of the voice.  i have voice on my firestick in another room a different tv and i like it.

If you are trying to control the TV and volume of your TV, then yes the remote will work. Please be aware that the voice feature of the remote will only work with Roku devices or Roku TVs.
