Where to get a programmable remote for custom shortcut buttons
On my standard roku remote, I only use the Netflix shortcut button. I'm sure they, sling, hulu and NOW all paid good money to be there.
However I also use a Prime and YouTube heavily and almost exclusively on my Roku.
Is there a brand that makes a quality remote with programmable shortcuts?

Re: Where to get a programmable remote for custom shortcut buttons
There are but it won't be labelled with the name, just have the command and so you would have to remember where they are.
If you don't mind using a IR remote you could get Inteset 422-3 or One-For-All urc-7880 Universal remotes, with these remote and a boat load of Advanced codes(EFC), you code map individually all kinds of channels, of course you'll have to remember what and where they are on the remote. This are some of the codes available:
Google play 00022
Rdio 00026
Youtube 00032
Feature Free 00043
Deezer 00054
Ch Store 00224
Prime Video 00082
TED 00084
PS VUE 00085
Spotify 00086
Pandora 00088
Red Bull 00090
CBS AA 00128
Yupp Tv 00130
Vudu 00138
Showtime 00149
Hulu 00151
Hbo Now 00153
WWW network 00180
Crackle 00181
The CW 00182
Happy Kids Tv 00184
Starz 00222
Slingtv 00229
Att TV 00247
Roku Ch 00118
Fandango now 00133
Netflix 00148
ESPN 00187
Disney + 00070
Apple tv 00073
To map these to a key on Inteset remote, first you use setup code 03061, and:
1. device key
2. press and hold SET for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 4
4. tap SET for one blink
5. enter 5 digit code

One-For-All makes the urc-7935 Streamer remote, it has four labelled keys, there are two versions of these remote, one has an A for amazon, the other replaces the A with Vudu key. In addition it has netflix, hulu, and red arrow for You Tube.
Its a learning remote too.

Re: Where to get a programmable remote for custom shortcut buttons
I'm guessing that this means that the original Roku remotes can't be reprogramed to change the Sling, hulu or Now buttons?

There is no code for a channel. Codes are for TV's.

Re: Where to get a programmable remote for custom shortcut buttons
Hi - well, if you will look at the first message in this thread, there are codes for channels. I've programmed Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube, etc. into our Inteset remote, but I'd like to program CNN in there as a "one button" shortcut to the channel.
Thanks
Danita

Re: Where to get a programmable remote for custom shortcut buttons
You never said you had the Inteset remote. You just asked for a code for CNN. But this a a Roku community. Did you ask Inteset? So you are using the CNN Go channel on your Roku and you want to make CNN Go a shortcut on your Inteset Universal remote? Correct? This thread is also 2 years old

Re: Where to get a programmable remote for custom shortcut buttons
@Tivoburkee do you perhaps know whether there is a CNN code, since you contributed the other codes for this thread?
Thanks
