I have a TCL Roku TV and it came with a voice remote. Today we turned the tv on with the remote and now it doesn't work. I know the batteries are ok, but put in new ones just in case....nothing. So I thought I would try to pair it again. It shows that it is there on the tv menu, but it doesn't know the firmware or the battery level. When I pressed the pair mode button, no light and it won't go into pair mode. We did grab another Roku remote and pair it. So what is wrong with the remote that came with the TV?

We understand and appreciate your efforts to resolve your Roku remote issues. The Roku voice remote can become unpaired for various reasons, such as weak signals or changing batteries. No worries, here are troubleshooting steps you can try to help resolve this issue.
Reset your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, pair it again.
We also suggest Restarting your streaming device to enter pairing mode:
Use the following steps to restart your streaming device.
Once you see the Home screen, follow the steps in the next section to put your voice remote into pairing mode and complete the pairing process with your streaming device.
If your voice remote has a pairing button, it will be located either on the back of the remote or under the battery cover.
Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds, or until you see the status light begin to flash, to put your voice remote into pairing mode.
If your voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home buttons for 5 seconds, or until you see the status light begin to flash.
In addition, if you have already tried to pair your remote and streaming device again, visit the article with detailed instructions on how to fix issues with your Roku voice remote.
