Hi,
I had to replace my 50" JVC Roku TV that had pixel problems this week with a new Roku brand model. I had the JVC model for four years and one month, I hope this TV lasts longer since it is a direct Roku branded TV and not a third party licensed model.
Outside of that, I purchased an upgraded Roku streaming stick 4K about a year ago as my other stick that I have used for hurricane evacuations among other uses is I believe eight years old. The only issue is for the life of me, I cannot get the stick to pair with the voice remote pro. Before I switched out the JVC TV, the issue was the remote would pair with the TV and not the stick, since I just got a new TV, I thought I would try again to see if I could finally get this thing activated, but the remote is not pairing with it. I have used the remote on other devices including the previous JVC TV and the old Roku stick, but I have never had this much trouble activating a device from Roku. The remote that came with the new TV, which is a 50" select series model, paired with the TV without issue so I know it isn't a case of Roku remotes suddenly not pairing with devices, but for whatever reason, I cannot get this stick paired with the rechargeable remote that it came with.
To be honest, I wish Roku would enable the ability to use the mobile app for set up an activation of Roku devices and not require activating a remote to get to the set up process after going through this issue with this streaming stick. I have pressed the single button on this rechargeable remote, which is charged, for five seconds and it will not pair. The green light on the back of the remote blinks, but it will not get beyond the pairing instructions and the light eventually shuts off until I press it again. I have been a Roku user since 2012 so I have other Roku remotes that require batteries laying around, I have tried those in the past with this stick as well and it is not pairing. There is nothing wrong with the stick itself beyond the fact that it is not pairing. Does anyone either in the community or at Roku have any way to get this thing up and running? I'm out of ideas. The one thing I will say is at least the new Roku TV has the LED indicator in the middle of the TV and not on the left side of the television like with the JVC model so there was no accidentally pairing the remote that came with this stick to the TV, but I still can't get this thing going so I can activate it for future use.
Any help would be very much appreciated. So far, no issues with the new TV, just hope it lasts longer than four years and I can get this stick activated by then.
Thanks

For newer 4k Sticks to pair with Roku remote youn have to use the original usb cable that came with it, the one with bump in the middle. It is that what the remote actually pairs to, not the Stick itself. So, are you using the usb cable with the bump?
