I bought a Roku Streaming Stick 4K | Streaming Device with Voice Remote and Long-Range Wi-Fi - Black and the USB power cable with long-range Wi-Fi® receiver is making my stick flash red then white then turns off…the device will get no power and non-Roku branded cords will not work. I have not had this device very long and now it’s useless.
PLEASE HELP !!!!
The flashing red light is generally a low power issue, so try connecting the LRWR (long-range wireless receiver) cable into a USB adapter and plug it into a wall outlet (any cell phone charging adapter 5volt, 1 amp should work).
You need to use the LRWR with a Streaming Stick model as they contain the wifi module necessary for network/internet connection as well as to use the remote. With the set-top streaming streaming players, you can use generic/universal micro-USB power cables, but unfortunately, the Streaming Sticks need the included proprietary LRWR cable.
So it worked normally, but now no power to the stick, does not light up at all. It’s like the LRWR is not getting power to the stick.
You didn't mention if you tried a wall adapter. (you may need to try a couple different ones if you are unsure of the voltage/amperage of the adapters).
You also mentioned that you tried other non-Roku power cables. Will these power cables at least "power on" the Roku device? (especially when used with the wall adapter). The non-Roku cable should at least provide power to the device, but wil not allow network connection or remote usage. (just checking power here).
If the other cable provides power to your device, then the LRWR is probably bad and will require replacement. Report back your troubleshooting findings and can direct you accordingly.
