Hello. I have been using Logitec Harmony Home hub remotes for years with Roku Ultra models and recently upgraded to the new 4850R 2024 model Ultra. For some reason, Harmony is having trouble controlling it by IP. It finds it and adds it, but there is no remote control functionality available. It will work somewhat using IR, but it always seems much better through IP. Does anyone know why this is happening or have a solution?
I am running Software version 14.0 and the device shows up as "4850X - Ultra" on the System info screen.
Thanks in advance,
Lee
@leecastWhile I use the Harmony 650, I've never been able to control my Ultra 4800x since the remote uses WiFi direct to communicate with the Ultra..I'm surprised you're able to use the Harmony since it won't work with WiFi direct..how did you manage to do that?
I cannot claim to know the Harmony model you mention, but I basically used the Harmony app on my iPhone, connected to the home hub, edited devices, add device, told it to scan my network, and all my Roku devices show up. My Roku Ultras are on wired ethernet, but it seems to show ones on WiFi as well. Hope this helps!

@leecast, do you have any other devices that have updated to 14.0 that still work with your hub?
I am having the same trouble. I've controlled two Roku Ultras for several years and decided to upgrade one of them to the newest version, model 4850x. I was able to add the device through a scan but there are no controls available on the remote or in the app. Does anyone know of a work around?
I was ultimately able to work around this with two of the 4850 units. I believe the Harmony Hub is just using IR commands and not IP, but it seems to work fine. Here is basically how it did it:
I hope this helps!

Hi Lee,
Thanks so much for your help! I tried the steps you laid out and I was able to successfully add the 4850x, but the problem I'm having now is that when I select either Roku in "Devices" or in either activity, it is controlling both Roku Ultras. In other words, I have a TV inside and a TV on the patio and both Rokus respond at the same time with the same command, regardless of which one I have selected. Is there a way to get the Harmony to tell them apart? I've named them separately but that didn't seem to do it.
Hi, so glad that this worked for you! Always happy to share what I have learned if it can help anyone else.
Regarding the more recent issue, I am left to wonder if the IR blasters from your Harmony Hub might be sending the commands out in a way that is able to reach both of the Roku units. In other words, is it possible the IR remote signals the hub is sending out can physically reach the other unit?
Best,
Lee
This is my problem EXACTLY! None of the hard buttons do anything on my Ultra, and it won't even learn any Roku 4850 commands, not even power. I deleted the new Roku and added back in the old 4600 and now none of IT'S buttons work. I'm stumped.
my new Roku was added successfully about a month ago, but the buttons stopped working yesterday. I read somewhere that if you remove the new backlit remote from the Roku and add an older remote and then wipe the Roku, you can successfully add it again and the buttons work
