Hello! @Garyreid3131,
Thank you for your post in the Roku Community!
We appreciate your contacting us regarding the issue with your Roku remote draining the battery. We are happy to help you.
- What Roku device are you using right now?
- Is this the first time you have experienced this issue? When did the problem start?
- How long have you been using this remote?
A system restart is the least invasive reset method. It involves removing the power cord from your Roku device for at least 10 seconds before plugging it back in. You can use the instructions below to restart the system from the Settings menu.
- Press Home on your Roku remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- Select System
- Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
- Select System restart
In either case, your Roku device will complete a system restart and hopefully return to regular operation after a moment.
If the issue persists,
can you please provide us with the following information:
- Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
- Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID).
Once we have this information, we will make sure to pass it along to the appropriate Roku team for further investigation.
You can use the Roku mobile app to control your streaming device while you are troubleshooting your voice remote.
In the meantime, your patience and understanding is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Arjiemar
