Roku Express Scrolling, Pausing, and Making Entry Acknowledgment Noise

My Roku Express has been scrolling through options on its own, pausing and playing on its own, and making the “booping” sound as it does. I reset the device several times and changing settings. Even the hard reset on the back of the device did nothing. I removed the batteries from its remote and even removed the remote from the room. I tried using the app remote, using remotes from the devices in the other rooms, and nothing has worked. Also the the Express units light flickers green to red as it operates like it is.

This would appear to be an issue with your remote. Please contact your TV's manufacturer directly to report this issue and request additional support. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support and warranty services for their products running the Roku OS. 

If you need a replacement remote for a Roku TV, you would need to contact your TV manufacturer. You can contact TCL here: https://support.tclusa.com/televisions or at 1-877-300-883.

You can also purchase a remote that is compatible with your Roku TV on our Products page.

Please reply here with the serial number of your Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be found at the back or underneath the player itself. I'll be able to further assist you from there.

it scrolls through the input settings on start up,unable to control with remote,turns itself off sometimes.Tried factory reset,newest update made it start doing it again,before it was'nt.unable to use TV!

Thanks for the post.

Can you please provide more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using? Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote as well as making sure there are no stuck or lodged buttons? In addition, can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
