Remote burning hot after replacing batteries

My remote is getting hot after changing alkaline batteries.  Your help section says not to remove the batteries and let it cool down.  It doesn’t cool down and melted the wrapping around the AA batteries.  I pulled the batteries out because that is not normal.

Re: Remote burning hot after replacing batteries

Hi @Sherry117,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that you are facing an issue with the Roku remote and we'd like to know more about how we can help.

If the back of your Roku remote gets warm or hot during normal use, the rechargeable battery may be damaged or the alkaline batteries may be corroded.

Please provide us with the serial number of your Roku device (printed on the side or back of the device) and let us know what specific remote this is. Here's how to help you Identify your Roku remote. Also, is this the remote that came with your Roku device? When did this issue start happening?

We will be closely monitoring this issue and look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Jharra
