Hello, my Roku TV flashes an irritating "Remote battery level 0%" notification every time the remote is moved or a button is pressed.
I have a TCL Roku TV with a AA-powered Roku remote. The issue began about a week ago after a software update. The TV requested that I re-pair the remote, and once I did the notifications began to happen.
This notification does not even make sense My remote is AA-powered, not rechargeable. It does not have a "battery level".
I have seen other posts discussing similar issues, and have followed the suggested steps to re-pair the remote multiple times. I even factory reset my TV. No effect.
This is clearly a software issue. Please fix it. I have been happy with this TV for years now, but this issue is irritating enough that if it is not fixed soon I will never be purchasing a Roku TV again.
Welcome to the Roku Community, @user000!
We understand you're experiencing an issue with the battery level of your Roku remote, and we're here to help. Before we proceed, could you please let us know if you have tried changing the batteries in your remote? Please note that even if you don't have a rechargeable remote and instead have a Roku voice remote with batteries, it's still important to check the battery level, as the batteries may be drained.
Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jharra

I'm sorry, but this is incorrect. The remote itself is fine, as are the batteries. It is AA powered. Nonrechargeable AA batteries do not have a detectable "battery level".
The issue I am experiencing is the repeated battery level notification constantly appearing on the screen. This would be no less problematic if it said 100% instead of 0%.
This is clearly a software defect. There are numerous posts about it on this forum. Can it please be directed to developers so they can implement a fix?

Oh, but they do. What battery level is the Roku detecting via:
