Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
We have a Streaming stick plus which we normally only use for visits to holiday rentals a few times a year but about a month back our rooftop aerial packed in so the streaming stick has been attached to our bedroom TV to fill the gap. This morning the remote works all except the left and down buttons. I have tried all the reset and battery change solutions without any success.
I would like to know if anyone has fixed this as I now have to use the smartphone app which is a real pain.

Can you please provide the serial number/device ID on your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
