I have a 3500 streaming stick. A friend is offering me his 3820 streaming stick that he'd lost his remote for some time ago. Can I use my old/previous remote with the 3820 stick? The menu comes up fine, but my remote is non-responsive. Thanks.
If it's a working remote, yes it should pair to your newer Stick. What's stopping you from trying?
Did you get this cable with the stick?
Without it, no remote will work. With it, @Tivoburkee is probably the best one to tell you whether your remote will work.
Yes, I just paired an original 3500 stick remote, the RC41 to 3820 stick, it worked. Its lousy Roku remote, no tv control at all. But as @renojim wrote you have to have the original usb cable with bump as pictured.
I have a cable labeled "Long Range Wireless Receiver" (Model WR002). My remote has model: RC12 underneath the batteries.
Should I be able to use this remote then? Thx ...
So should I be able to "pair" my old remote to this 3820 streaming stick????? I have a picture of my remote and stick attached. I tried downloading the roku app to my smartphone but I can't connect to my wifi without being able to maneuver anywhere ...

I hadn't used my old one all that much and didn't know exactly what "pairing" involved or if my old remote was capable ... "banged around" some of the threads in the community here and got it to work! Thanks for your help ...
