Plugs don't sync with time change

Jump to solution

i don't know that this is much of a question as much of a statement. i have a massive roku security setup. many cameras, sensors, smart plugs, leds, all of it. we had the time change over the weekend and one would imagine that if there is a time change, your plugs would keep the time. nope. instead, they change the schedule and turn on an hour before and off an hour early. who thought this was a good idea? this further proves my point that although roku security is affordable, it is poorly built and works right maybe 75% of the time. i get kicked out of my app about once every other day or so, i spoke with support and they just said, document how many times it does it and reach back out. the outdoor wireless cameras are trash. the solar chargers work half the time. i just wonder if anyone knows how you could make the plugs just keep their schedule?!?!?! when you have a system as big as mine, going and changing every schedule is a nightmare that shouldn't have to happen. it is sad because roku has been struggling, and something as simple as investing more time and thought into the app and the other parts of it would go a long way. this system could so easily compete with other top of the line ones if even a modicum of input from customers was listened too. shame really.

Re: Plugs don't sync with time change

We’re aware that some users are experiencing an issue with the time settings on their Roku Smart Plugs. Our engineering team is currently investigating the issue, and we appreciate your patience while they work on a fix.

In the meantime, there is an alternative solution that you can use to set your Roku Smart Plug to turn on or off at the correct times. This workaround involves creating a "Rule" within the Roku Smart Home app to schedule the desired time for the plug to activate.

Follow these steps to create a Rule:
  1. Open the Roku Smart Home app on your device.
  2. Tap the plus icon in the upper left corner.
  3. Select “Add rule”.
  4. Tap “Schedule”.
  5. Tap “Start time”, select your desired time, and hit Save.
  6. Under “Repeats on”, select the days you want the rule to be active (purple means the day is selected).
  7. Tap “Add action”.
  8. Choose the desired plug from the list of devices.
  9. Select either “Turn on” or “Turn off”.
  10. Tap Save.
Please note: You will need to create separate rules for turning the plug on and off. These actions cannot be combined into a single rule with different on/off times.

For more details, please refer to our official support guide: Roku Smart Plug Support.
Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more information on the issue!
