Hi, It's been months now that Roku released this awful patch that causes thousands of customers a huge hassle, doing a force hard restart everytime you want to use your tv is not normal. when will this be patched? @RokuCarly

Jump to solution

Hello! @SFOWLER,

Thank you for posting in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you contacting us about the issue you are having connecting your TV to your home. We're pleased to assist you.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Power cycle the Roku device for 30 seconds
  2. Restart the router
  3. You can perform a Network Connection Reset on your Roku device by going to Settings> Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection.
    • Note: Before doing make sure you know your WiFi credentials.
  4. After the network reset, your Roku device will restart, and you will need to return to the Settings menu to set up your wireless network again.

You can connect your streaming device to a mobile hotspot as a temporary workaround to prevent an issue from occurring.

For additional troubleshooting steps, please see this article: How to fix internet errors and issues on your Roku streaming device.

If the issue persists, we recommend performing a manual factory reset.

Please keep us posted on what you find out. We will happily continue assisting you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Arjiemar

It won't download to update/upgrade the software because the tv auto disconnects from network. I keep seeing Not Connected message.  Insignia Roku was a big waste of money!

Hello! @jec,

Thanks for the update,

In the meantime, we recommend performing a factory resetHere’s how:

  1. Locate the reset button on your Roku device, usually on the back or bottom.
  2. Ensure your Roku TV is powered on.
  3. Press and hold the reset button for precisely 10 seconds.
  4. Watch for a fast-blinking light, indicating that the reset is in progress.
  5. Once the light blinks at an average rate, release the button.

After a successful factory reset, your Roku device will restart in the same state as a factory-new device and will be ready for you to complete the following:

  1. Perform the Guided Setup and activation process
  2. Sign in to streaming channels that require a username and password
  3. Create a 4-digit PIN and configure parental control settings
  4. Perform a broadcast television channel scan (if you have a Roku TV with an HDTV antenna connected)

Thanks,
Arjiemar

Roku connection issues after OS update

Jump to solution

It's easy to say I hate Roku now. This is ridiculous. Every single time the Roku is turned off and back on it has to be reset and manually connected to the internet. This is BEYOND ANNOYING, if any other company had this issue the entire programming team would be fired for taking too long to fix it. No, factory reset DOES NOT WORK, moving my router DOES NOT WORK, this is a ROKU TV problem, not a me problem. I'm seriously so over this. Roku is a terrible company, and their TVs are worse.

FIX. THIS. PROBLEM.
