Your satellite setup has this capability because you have a DVR with a hard disk that provides recording and playback capabilities.
No Roku streaming devices have such recording/playback capabilities. With Roku streaming devices any recording capabilities must be provided by the individual channel apps using their own servers.
Roku TVs do have such a capability if you install a USB thumb drive of at least (I think) 16 mb and enable it in your settings.
