Thanks, I will try this as it will be more convenient than going for the TV remote to shut it off. Not sure how I accidentally turned it on like others did, but it is annoying. Anyway, thank you for addressing this.

Congrats on your first post in the Roku Community!

We can certainly understand your concern that you want to turn off this feature. 

You may try to turn off the "Screen reader" by pressing the * button on your remote 4 times quickly. This feature might accidentally enable and that's why your Roku player sounds like it's been talking to you.

Ive tried pressing the star button 4 times. That didn't work.  I have screen reader disabled

@trikedaddy, if you hear a voice announcing the volume and you don't have an actual Roku TV, it's your TV doing it.

I have the exact same problem on my TV, pressing the * 4 times did not resolve the problem, can you suggest something else.

If you’re getting announcements of the TV volume level, then that’s the TV.  You need to use the TV remote and whatever buttons and menus the TV uses to turn off that feature.
