Problem not solved as of November 19th of 2024.
I FOUND NO SOLUTION ON THIS SITE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH REMOVING BACKDROPS, SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT BEFORE IT WAS EVER ROLLED OUT
As of 11/19/2024 BACKDROP CANNOT BE REMOVED. COME ON ROKU SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
I have no answer for you but I did want to post the same problem. I couldn't see how to do that independently so I'm using this as an answer. It's likely easy enough but we're not all techie whizzes. Perhaps if those who run these things learn how many customers want backdrops gone, dead, and buried, they'll do something about it. I may have to go back to cable because at least they'll never give you anything for free since whether you want it is unimportant to those companies. I had naively believed Roku was better than that. It has shown up without being downloaded to the Roku TVs and through the Roku devices. I'm beginning to be sorry we invested in so many. We despise this addition. It has made things more difficult than they need to be,
My settings menu will not open while Backdrops is open. So frustrating
@walkonsmenu, the following page says you enable/disable it from the app's settings. I haven't used Backdrops yet, so I can only go by that page.

I HATE THIS BACKDROPS AND WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY MORE ROKU TVS IN FUTURE

It worked! Thank you!!
I removed the Backdrops app and this worked for some time but today I ran out of an hour and when I came back the **bleep** thing was on my tv even though I do not have the app installed at all. Please get rid of this buggy awful mess that is haunting my tv. I cannot disable it because it is supposedly not even on my tv. It's insane (and it stays on one picture forever, this time a very white pic of huskies in the snow, like it's trying to break my tv, wtf)
Hey there, @shelwood46.
