I can't find the turn off display option. I hit the star button and there is no option to turn off display.

Raising your queries here is highly appreciated as we would be happy to further assist you with your concerns. 

Kindly use the voice feature on your remote and command "display off" to disable it. In addition, you can install the Roku mobile app as an alternative to your physical remote. It also has the command and private listening feature.
