I want to use the Live TV Pause and need a USB drive. What size should I use? USB drives come in a variety of sizes (GB) and i want to use the best one for the job.

At least 16GB.  It will only pause for a maximum of 90 minutes, so I'm sure there's a size beyond which the extra space is useless and that very well may be 16GB.

Keep in mind that it only works on Roku TVs to pause live Over-the-Air (antenna) channels.
