We are new to Roku and are trying to set up guest mode. We created a pin. When we try to enter guest mode on the TV, we get a message that says "A pin is required. Sign in to my.roku.com to set up your PIN." We can go no further. Roku will not allow us to enter guest mode. Help! What are we missing?
Hi @rherder,
Welcome, and thanks for posting to the Roku Community!
We understand you are having trouble using the Guest Mode feature on your Roku device. It gets a message that says, "A pin is required," even if a pin has already been created.
In this case, please ensure that the email address on your device under Settings > System > About is the same email address you're using to log in to the Roku website. Some Roku users have managed to create more than one Roku account without even realizing it.
If that checks out, check for updates under Settings > System > System Update > Check now to ensure everything is up to date.
Finally, you can set up Guest Mode remotely on the Roku website. Just log in and scroll down to your linked devices. Then, you can enable Guest Mode there.
Visit our support article for more information on how to turn Guest Mode on and off on your Roku streaming device.
We hope this clarifies your concern. Please let us know if you need further assistance or clarification.
All the best,
Chel
