Hello:
Is there a way to avoid having to re-setup Roku channels, especially subscribed ones, when installing a new device, in particular an older Ultra to the newest Ultra?
I have grand-kids who I visit weekly and bring over a Raspberry Pi 400 Plex media server setup with ripped Blu-Ray movies from my collection. The file format is MKV and generally H265. Also, the sound can be DTS/True HD. I have heard that the older Rokus do not like either, but at home I have no trouble with the above; everything plays just fine with minimal buffering. At their house, there are a number of ripped movies that simply will not play without buffering every few seconds.
I know I am walking a fine line between wifi band width and the ability of the Pi to transcode to a slower than original MPS. So, I got them the newer Roku, since it seems to handle DTS and multi-channel surround and the HDR encoded movies, plus the better wifi.
I plan on connecting everything via ethernet at their house, so that wifi bandwidth becomes a non-issue, especially when Dad goes off to get a well deserved break and then watches his own streamed movie/TV show.
Anyway, any suggestions on how to do an upgrade/conversion will be appreciated. Thank you!
As long as you link the new Roku to the same Roku account as the old one, it will get all the same channels installed. Some of the ones that require a log in will have to be logged in on the new Roku. The order of the channels in the home page channel grid will likely be different, however you can then rearrange them to taste.

I don't have a "new" roku device it is still the same one I purchased in August (latest version-4K+)..but on TV they said I could up grade that device for better and quicker management of it...But I can find know where to do so....It said go to Roku.com/Roku.os...but there is nothing about an "Upgrade" procedure.
