Screen saver issues please help me

Hi. I'm struggling to get my screen saver to stay on for more than 10 seconds. I have 2 devices and they're both doing it. I've tried different things in the settings and updates an everything I can think to do but it's not working it still just comes on after 1 minute inactivity then maybe count of 5 it's off onto the main screen again an noones touching the remote. Any help?

Does the same thing occur if you try to "Preview" it from Settings->Theme->Screensavers?  Have you tried a different screensaver?  If there's a bug in an app/screensaver it will crash and return to the Home Screen.

I'm having the same issue and it's something that just started within the past few days. I've tried a couple different screensavers and they all have the same issue. They will start like they are supposed to, be on for a few seconds, and then exit. They don't go to the Home Screen, but just exit to where they were before the screensaver started, and then start again, and then go through this over and over.

Having the same problem.  Screensaver only lasts for a few seconds.  When on YouTube and pause a video, screensaver starts then in a few seconds goes back to video and starts the video.  So we can't pause a video and walk away.  On YouTube TV when pause a show the paused screen just stays, no screensaver.  How soon for an update to fix?

Screen saver issues please help me

Anyone who is having this problem I believe I found the fix. It only works if you have the roku remote that has a mic. Go to the streaming store and hold the mic and say screensavers. It should just take you immediately to your settings and screensavers and everything appeared. I used to have all the screensavers then they disappeared once day when I wanted to change it. I know the only reply anyone has gotten is well some themes are out of season. Yea there’s no way 600+ screensavers just went out of “season” per se. So hopefully this works for ya’ll too.

Having a very similar problem. Just bought the new 2024 ultra (4850X) and it seems like the screen saver application is crashing or failing to load right or something… almost like a bad driver or something for the software talking to the newer processor/gpu.

 

Often I will turn everything on to find a screen that’s sitting on my background with no icons and after pressing home or some other button, a few seconds later I get icons. Sometimes it just is hung up and reboots itself (crashes). I’ve tried factory resetting again and same issues persist. Additionally, I’ve tested starting it from the screen savers menu and it just hangs and doesn’t display the screen saver, just the background image or black screen. Other times it crashes and reboots the Roku, other times it may actually display the screen saver but it never once has actually worked as a screen saver. When it triggers, it just blanks out the screen, then the background comes back on with no icons and it’s frozen. Other times it just crashes and reboots.

 

I’ve tried changing the screen saver to something other than aquarium and it does the same thing, same behavior.

 

Roku, please fix this major bug. LOTS of people are reporting this issue and have been for weeks.

Additionally, the device will hang and crash randomly from a home press while in an app, like a hard home press during playback for example.  There just seem to be some major bugs with the current OS version and the new hardware, lots of people are posting here and in redit about these issues for weeks now.

 

Roku, please fix this major bug. LOTS of people are reporting this issue and have been for weeks.

I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOU F****** WITH MY HOME SCREEN. AND **** YOUR B******* TROUBLESHOOTING GARBAGE AI RESPONSES. IT'S A TEMPORARY FIX THAT YOU CONSTANTLY CHANGE - FORCING ME TO CONSTANTLY HAVE TO CHANGE IT BACK MANUALLY EVERY SINGLE TIME.

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue arise, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

Once we have this information, we can pass it along to the appropriate Roku team for further investigation.
