I use a Roku 4K stick that sits behind my Samsung TV. I power it via the USB port on the TV. Sometimes when I turn the TV on, the TV will cycle on and off on the start up screen and requires a hard reset to restart the Roku player. Has anyone experienced this issue? I've also tried to power it to a wall plug which eliminates this issue but then I've had the risk of overheating the stick.
Thanks! I did turn off the Anynet+ feature on the Samsung TV and will turn off the 1-Touch Play in the Roku Settings to see if that does the trick.
THe overheating I think was due to using an Apple wall plug with the USB connection for the Roku Stick. I could try using the proper plug that is provided with the Roku Stream stick.
Ah, yes, I was going to ask if it was plugged into the wall. Many TVs do not apply quite enough power to the USB ports. Also, many TVs power down the USB when they are asleep/off and powering cycling a Roku at TV start up time – if it happens to be HDMI-CEC linked to the TV does seem like that presents additional chances for confusion.
Some things you could mess around with: You could turn off 1-Touch Play in the Roku settings (Settings -> System -> Control other devices -> 1-touch play) and/or turn off HDMI-CEC in the TV (Samsung calls it Anynet+).
Your Roku overheats only when plugged into the wall?

I had the exact same issue with both my Samsung tvs and Roku sticks. As soon as I powered the Roku from a different usb power supply and not the tv usb port, the problem went away!!!!
