I got a message that Netflix won't be supported on my device after Sept. 3 and gave me a website to go to (netflix.com/compatibledevices), but I couldn't find an answer to my problem. I think what I need to do is update my Roku device (model 2710X). Is that the case? What do I need to do?
Hi, @kencaneva.
Welcome, and thanks for posting here in the Roku Community!
Please be informed that your Roku device is one of Roku's Legacy models, which have been discontinued. These models are unable to support newer versions of the Roku OS. Channel providers like Netflix regularly update their channels to ensure users have the best streaming experience. This includes optimizing video quality, improving user interface, and adding new features to enhance the overall viewing experience. Hence, it is essential for the devices to be capable of running the latest operating system in order to effectively support the current software version.

This is the first report I've seen on this re Netflix. They have always been about the best service out there for maintaining support for older Roku models. Did they give you additional specifics, like minimum Roku version you must be running, supported model numbers, etc.?
Roku 2710 was released in 2013. The last Roku version the Roku 2710 can run is version 11. 2710 and a bunch of other older models that topped out at Roku 11 have no longer been supported since version 11.5 was released, beginning in Sept 2022. That was a 9 year run for the 2710, which is pretty good for today's rapidly developing electronics.
What you need to do is buy an up to date model. Anything in the current product line will do. You'll be amazed at how much faster and more responsive any newer model will be. Be aware that no current units have anything other than an HDMI connection to the TV, should you be using an old set that has no HDMI inputs.
I would recommend getting anything other than the bottom-of-the-line non-4K Express. Starting at just a few $ more, any other model is much more capable unit and will work just fine on both 4K and non-4K TVs.
